Energy & Environment Alliance Committees

EEA is a global, not-for-profit coalition of hotel investors, developers, owners, and asset managers. Working with industry practitioners and technical experts, the EEA is helping the hospitality sector transition to Net Zero Carbon (NZC) and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) stewardship in a timely, scientifically robust, and commercially sustainable way. Its work is overseen by four committees:

• The Advisory Board: providing specialist experience and knowledge on hotels, apart hotels, serviced apartments, hostels, and all other hybrid hospitality assets, in an ESG context.
• The Capital Markets Committee: in partnership with JLL, works to align the interests of lenders, investors, and operators, to encourage ESG investment and lending.
• The General Counsels Committee: is developing the hotel industry’s first NZC/ESG legal repository and governance framework, including the drafting of model clauses and contracts in collaboration with global NGO The Chancery Lane Project.
• The Technical Committee: in partnership with BREEAM, leads the creation of the world’s first global, scientifically robust NZC/ESG standard for sustainable building management in the hospitality sector.
